** While the items listed are not in any way bad or wrong to use at home or in many other settings, part of the benefit of our brief time together during this Youth Retreat is just that: Time Together. These items can be more isolating than friend-ship creating by their very nature. Unless there is a valid exception (i.e. the Talent Show), PLEASE leave them at home, for the sake of all!  Let us learn together & have a memorable time – Together! Thanks!

*** If any Serious No-No’s are brought to the Youth Retreat, you will be sent home immediately and at your parents expense. If there are attitude or discipline problems which can not be quickly and appropriately worked out, it will be at the discretion of Youth Retreat Staff to do the same (above).

IMPORTANT NOTE TO ALL PARENTS: It is highly recommended that before leaving home, you tag or label as many of your Youth’s belongings as is possible. Each Youth must be held personally accountable for keeping track of and bringing back home those things which he or she brings to the Youth Retreat.  You may want to prepare and give your Youth a copy (with any special notes) of this “Checklist of Things to Bring” to help insure that all items return safely home.

PARENTS OF PARTICIPANTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS: If a parent has particular concerns or if a Youth has special needs, please either accompany your Youth to the Retreat or pre-arrange for a designated adult coming from your Parish or area to play a particular guardianship role during the Retreat. You may want to prepare and give this adult guardian a copy (with your special notes) of this “Checklist of Things to Bring” to help insure that all items sent along return safely home. We are very happy to include special needs participants at this retreat! However, the Youth Retreat staff and/or the facilities we use are not responsible for personal items or special medical or other equipment sent to the retreat with your Youth. For the benefit of all concerned, please let us know in advance regarding any special situations or medical, optical, auditory or dental or other devices your youth may require. Special Needs Notes can be written on the Permission Slip/Insurance Form enclosed. Thank you for helping make this PRO-ORB sponsored Orthodox Youth Retreat a positive experience for us all!
