AÑO NUEVO DE LA IGLESIA - LA INDICCIÓN - 1 DE SEPTIEMBRE

El primer día del Año Nuevo de la iglesia también se llama el principio de la Indicción. El término Indicción viene de una palabra latina que significa, "imponer." Fue aplicado originalmente a la imposición de impuestos en Egipto. La primera Indicción mundial fue en el año 312 cuando el emperador Constantino (el 21 de mayo) vio una visión milagrosa de la cruz en el cielo. Antes de la introducción del calendario Juliano, Roma comenzaba el Año Nuevo el 1 de septiembre.

Según la tradición santa, Cristo entró en la sinagoga el 1 de septiembre para anunciar su misión a la humanidad (S. Lucas 4:16-22).
